The Joseph Calleja concerts are held every year since 2009. They attract plenty of people. Around 25,000 persons in 2014 where at the Granaries Floriana, located in front of the capital city Valletta, a perfect setting for such a large high profile concerts.
Back then he performed operatic airs during concerts held in Malta. Due to the huge success he decided to continue the concert every summer at a bigger place to attract more of a large crowd and be able to communicate with the Maltese to show his talents and great performances.
Through these years Joseph Calleja developed the fusing elements
of pop music with classical attracting a much larger audience and exposing them to
the opera which is much less popular.
With so much to do in Malta, it is hard to decide what to choose but this concert is one of them, if you love opera music, fusing elements of pop music with classical, it is the place to be. Malta although a small island can offer plenty of cultural events and festivals.
With Joseph Calleja golden voice and with a wide selection of opera songs, he is capable of entertaining the crowds. As in the past he took part in duets with his guests.
For this concert Calleja chose less popular songs such as La Dolicissima Effige and Gladiatore showing that he has a vast repertoire of songs.
With the participation of the world renouned Leona Lewis, Claudio Baglioni and Bryn Terfel the concert was a great success. Further participation of Maltese participants, Clara Ghigo and Federica Falzon.
She is a British singer-songwriter and actress now a world-famous performer, aged 29 and has not let it go to her heart. She participated in the 3rd UK X Factor TV programme wining a recording contract. She sang The Prayer with Joseph Calleja among others from her repertoire.

During the concert Baglioni sang a few of his many great famous songs including Strada Facendo, E Tu, La Vita e' Adesso, Via and Mille Giorni di te e di me. He sang with Joseph Calleja the popular Questo Piccolo Grande Amore twice during the night, both to standing ovations.
In fact Sabato Pomeriggio was a big hit in 1975.
He is a Welsh internationally renowned bass-baritone opera and concert singer. One of the duets he sang with Calleja were Granada which was one of the highlights of the show. He has amazed the audience with his energetic voice at the same time performing particularly operatic airs adequate to his voice.
Just a glimyse about him: Don Giovanni Bryan Terfel are synonymous. During his carrier he has played three different roles at different intervals on stage performing Mozart’s artwork at the Royal Opera House. His incredible voice is adapted to the creative and seductive energy of Don Giovanni.
An 11 year old girl from Malta, a mezzo-soprano. was the guest of honor at the concert. This year she came in the final for the Italian Rai Uno show Ti Lascio Una Canzone. She will be representing Malta in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for 2014 which happens to be held in Malta during November which was successfully one by another singer Gaia Cauchi.
Federica won the hearts of the numerous crowd with her distinct voice quality. She sang In Amore with Joseph Calleja.
A mezzo-soprano was in Malta to participate in the concert too. She has already performed at some of the biggest opera houses in Europe.
He conducted the Maltese National Orchestra for some years now. He is conductor, pianist, arranger and composer. Known as a multi-faced musician, capable of conducting classical and light music. His recordings are played all over the world.
