How We Use It on Malta Info Guide

We started using Travelpayouts on Malta Info Guide in April 2026. What first attracted us was having access to several different travel affiliate programs from one platform, rather than having to apply to and manage each program separately.

Since Malta Info Guide covers many parts of planning a Malta holiday, from accommodation to activities and transport, having different travel services available under one account immediately appealed to us. Travelpayouts also offered several tools and features we wanted to test on the website.

Today, we mainly use Travelpayouts for activities and other travel services. For accommodation, we already use another affiliate platform, so our experience with Travelpayouts has developed around where we feel it adds something different. After using it since April 2026, this review is based on what we've found useful, what's worked for us, and what we have been less impressed with.

Our Quick Travelpayouts Verdict

Based on our experience so far, we would recommend Travelpayouts, although in our case we use it alongside another affiliate platform. We tend to use different tools for different travel categories, depending on where each one performs best and fits most naturally within the website.

What we like most about Travelpayouts is the large number of affiliate programs available under one account. There were several travel companies we had considered applying to individually in the past but never did because we only expected to use them occasionally. Having them available through one platform makes this much easier to manage.

We also like the link-conversion tools (Switch Links), which can automatically turn existing links to supported travel companies into tracked Travelpayouts affiliate links. For example, an existing Viator link can be converted so that your Travelpayouts account ID is included and an eligible booking can be attributed to you. The dashboard is also very user-friendly, and being able to manage more than one website from the same account is particularly useful for us.

Travelpayouts can also be used across other channels, including Facebook and YouTube, through classic monetisation tools such as standard affiliate links. However, some tools are designed for specific platforms. For example, Travelpayouts Drive, its AI-powered monetisation tool, is designed specifically for websites.

As Travelpayouts is still a relatively new addition to our setup, we are still exploring its full range of programs and tools and learning where it fits best within Malta Info Guide.

What Is Travelpayouts?

Travelpayouts is a travel affiliate platform that brings different travel brands and services together under one account. Instead of joining and managing every affiliate program separately, publishers can connect to a range of travel companies through the same dashboard.

The platform covers several travel categories, including accommodation, activities, flights, car rentals and other travel services. Depending on the individual program, publishers can use tools such as affiliate links, widgets and other integrations to direct visitors to booking partners and earn commission from eligible bookings.

One of the biggest advantages for us is the convenience. You can manage different travel affiliate programs in one place, which is especially useful if you run a travel website that covers several parts of the visitor journey rather than focusing on only one type of booking.

Why We Started Using Travelpayouts on Malta Info Guide

We started using Travelpayouts because Malta Info Guide covers many different parts of a visitor's trip, from where to stay and what to do to transport, tours and other travel services. That means we regularly come across companies and booking platforms that could be useful to our readers.

Before using Travelpayouts, there were several affiliate programs we had thought about joining individually but never did. In some cases, we only expected to use a company occasionally, so going through a separate application and account setup did not always feel worthwhile.

Travelpayouts made that much easier. Instead of managing many individual accounts, we could access different travel affiliate opportunities from one platform and decide which ones actually made sense for Malta Info Guide.

For us, that flexibility is one of the main reasons Travelpayouts is useful. We do not need every affiliate program all the time, but when a particular service fits naturally into one of our Malta travel pages, having it available through the same system makes it much easier to test and use.

How We Actually Use Travelpayouts

We have activated the affiliate programs available to us through Travelpayouts, but in practice we focus mainly on the ones that fit naturally with Malta Info Guide's content and the way our readers plan their trips.

The Programs We Use

The programs we currently focus on most are Viator, GetYourGuide and Discover Cars. These fit particularly well with Malta Info Guide because visitors are often researching tours, activities and transport before or during their trip.

We also use other programs through Travelpayouts when they are relevant, including Airalo, Booking.com, Ticketmaster, Klook and Radical Storage. We do not necessarily use every program equally, but having them available under the same account means we can introduce one when it genuinely makes sense for a particular page rather than having to start a new affiliate application from scratch.

The Tools We Use

The three tools we currently use most are Travelpayouts Drive, widgets, and manually created affiliate links.

Drive is particularly useful because it can automatically convert eligible existing links on the website into Travelpayouts affiliate links. For example, if we have already linked naturally to a supported travel company, Travelpayouts can add the necessary tracking so that an eligible booking made through that link can be attributed to our account.

We also use widgets when they add something useful to a page, together with standard manual affiliate links where we want more control over exactly where and how a recommendation appears.

At the moment, Travelpayouts Drive is enabled alongside another affiliate system we already use on Malta Info Guide. This is one area we continue to watch carefully because both platforms can interact with travel-related links. We have seen differences in performance depending on how the systems are configured, so rather than assuming that more automation always means better results, we continue to monitor how the two work together on our website.

At the moment, Travelpayouts Drive is enabled alongside another affiliate platform we already use on Malta Info Guide. We use the two for slightly different purposes and travel categories, so they can complement each other rather than necessarily replace one another. We still keep an eye on how they perform together and adjust the setup where needed.

What We Like About Travelpayouts

There are several things we genuinely like about Travelpayouts, but the biggest advantage for us is having many travel affiliate programs available under one platform.

Before joining, there were companies we had considered applying to individually but never did because we expected to use them only occasionally. Through Travelpayouts, that becomes much easier. If a particular company fits naturally into one of our Malta travel pages, we can start using that program without having to manage another completely separate affiliate account.

We also find the Travelpayouts dashboard very easy to use. The different websites and channels can be managed from the same account, which is particularly useful for us because we operate more than one travel website.

Another feature we like is Drive and its automatic link conversion. Existing links to supported companies can be converted into tracked affiliate links without having to manually replace every individual URL. On a website with hundreds of pages, that can save a considerable amount of work.

Travelpayouts also gives us flexibility in how we use the platform. We can combine automatic link conversion, manual affiliate links and widgets depending on what works best for a particular page rather than being restricted to one method.

Overall, its biggest strength for us is convenience. Travelpayouts does not mean that every affiliate program will suddenly perform well, but it makes experimenting with different travel partners considerably easier than opening and maintaining a separate account for every company we want to test.

What We Don’t Like

So far, we have not come across any major problems with Travelpayouts. We only started using the platform in April 2026, so our experience is still relatively recent and we do not think it would be fair to manufacture a long list of negatives simply for the sake of having one.

The main limitation in our case is actually related to our own setup. We already use another affiliate platform quite extensively, so there is some overlap between the two systems and between the types of travel services they can monetise. This means we have to be a little more selective about how we use each platform rather than simply switching everything on and assuming that more affiliate tools will automatically produce better results.

Apart from that, the dashboard, tools and general setup have been straightforward for us so far. Our bigger question is not whether Travelpayouts is difficult to use, but how much additional value it can generate for Malta Info Guide over a longer period of time. Since we have only been using it for a few months, that is something we are still evaluating.

Has Travelpayouts Actually Made Us Money?

Yes. Since we started using Travelpayouts in April 2026, we have recorded 17 confirmed bookings or conversions through the platform.

At the moment, we have $128.48 in confirmed earnings awaiting payout to our bank account, together with a further $118.52 in potential earnings that are still pending.

Most of these results have come from activities, particularly GetYourGuide and Viator, which makes sense because this is where we have focused most of our Travelpayouts activity. Accommodation remains much more heavily focused on our other affiliate platform for Malta Info Guide, so we have not been using Travelpayouts as our main accommodation monetisation system.

We have not yet received our first Travelpayouts payout, so we cannot personally comment on the payout process or how smoothly the money reaches our bank account. Once that happens, this is something we would be able to update in the review.

For us, these early results are encouraging, especially considering that Travelpayouts has not been our primary affiliate platform. At the same time, we are still too early in our experience to make large claims about long-term earning potential.

How Travelpayouts Fits Into Our Existing Affiliate Setup

We currently use Travelpayouts alongside another affiliate platform on Malta Info Guide, but they play slightly different roles for us.

In our case, the other platform remains our main platform for accommodation, while Travelpayouts is where we currently focus more heavily on activities and other travel services such as GetYourGuide, Viator and Discover Cars.

For us, the benefit of using both is flexibility. Travelpayouts gives us access to a wide range of affiliate programs and useful tools under one account, while the other platform remains the system we rely on more heavily for accommodation-related monetisation.

We do not see them as direct replacements for each other. Instead, we use each platform where we feel it fits best within Malta Info Guide. That approach also allows us to test different types of travel services without depending entirely on one affiliate network.

As our experience with Travelpayouts grows, we may adjust how much we use each platform, but for now Travelpayouts complements our existing setup rather than replacing it.

Who We Think Travelpayouts Is Best For

Based on our experience so far, we think Travelpayouts can work well for both new and established travel websites, especially if the goal is to access several travel affiliate programs without managing each one separately.

For a newer travel website, the main advantage is convenience. Instead of opening multiple accounts for accommodation, activities, car rental and other travel services, you can manage many opportunities from one platform and test what actually works for your audience.

For an established website, Travelpayouts can also be useful because it makes it easier to add new affiliate partners without rebuilding your monetisation setup every time. This is one of the main reasons we continue using it on Malta Info Guide.

We think it is particularly useful for publishers who want a broad selection of travel affiliate programs under one account, together with tools such as Drive, widgets and manual affiliate links.

Is Travelpayouts Worth It? Our Final Verdict

For us, yes, Travelpayouts has been worth using so far.

We joined in April 2026 and, although it is not our primary affiliate platform, we have already generated real bookings and confirmed earnings through it. For us, the biggest practical benefit has been being able to try affiliate programs we probably would never have bothered applying to individually.

The biggest benefit is still convenience and flexibility. The dashboard is easy to use, there are many affiliate programs available, and we can choose between automatic link conversion, widgets and manual links depending on the page.

At the same time, we would not suggest joining Travelpayouts with the expectation that simply activating more programs will automatically increase your income. Affiliate performance still depends on your traffic, your audience and how naturally the offers fit your content.

For Malta Info Guide, Travelpayouts currently works best as a complementary platform that gives us access to activities and other travel services, while we continue using our existing accommodation-focused affiliate setup more heavily for accommodation.

Our experience is still developing, but based on what we have seen since April 2026, we are happy to continue using Travelpayouts and testing more of what the platform offers.
