During the 19th Century when the British ruled over Malta, at noon from the Saluting Battery at the Upper Barrakka Gardens, the whole of Malta used to set it clocks which was accurate to a second. Today the cannons are fired daily and you can be there to witness this event. At 16:00 every day it is repeated, all this is part of a historic enactment.
